Tomorrow is the big day! We first fly to Fort Lauderdale and then saturday we board our ship for our seven day cruise! I am so excited. I am so excited to spend time with Christian and Jake. I am excited to show them how awesome cruising is. Wonder what the blog will say when we get back. I have every kind of motion sickness remedy ready for the little man and little woman. Being that neither of them have been on a cruise, who knows how they'll react. I don't even know how i'll react being pregnant and all.
We have beach excursions that will include sitting, drinking (for 1 out of 3 of us) and swimming. There will also be lots of complaining too if I know Jake. Maybe he'll surprise us. It's up to him to have fun!
There will be ice skating shows, diving shows and an acrobatic show. Almost too much to remember.
I will be taking tons of pics and hopefully will be posting them soon after we return.
Until August...

Spit
It didn't rain after all of that hard work yesterday. It sprinkled on me & poured 15 minutes away. Sunny and 100 today again. YAY!

Rain
It's been weeks, if not months since it rained. The yard needs it, our bank account needs it and although the dogs get muddy and gross and tomorrow is house cleaning day, it would be nice to have. I rushed home. Jake and I were running errands. I looked East and saw the dark gray clouds. "Hurry home to put the tarp down," I thought. I rushed in, dropped everything and ran outside (without actually running b/c I can't with my mini me growing inside). Tarp is down, it's secure. It was starting to sprinkle when I came in. Now, the sweat has dried, my lungs have caught up to my breathing once again and what is outside the window??? Nothing. No rain. Gloomy skies, no rain. I think the tarp scared it. I think I should be putting expensive electronics in the driveway so that it will rain. No one wants their expensive stuff ruined by rain, right!?

RIP Gary the Snail
Today I fished Gary out of Jake's fishtank. I walked to the back of our lot and chucked him into the greenbelt. He was a good snail for that week and a half. I suppose we'll get another snail when we go get more fish this week. Or, maybe we should wait until we get back from vacation. Either way, he was $1.99 and worth it.
Uh Oh
So i've been trying to get all the details of our vacation settled up. Getting confirmation numbers ready and paperwork filled and just trying to have everything ready so we aren't rushing about next week.
In the midst of all of this we are trying to get in coordination with Christian's ex who now lives in Miami to come see Jake. Jake loves her and living so far away if given the opportunity we think he should be able to. So this morning Christian gets an email stating that the hotel we're staying in is 3.5 hours from Miami and not anywhere near Fort Lauderdale. Oops! I wish when I had called that they had told me that! So, this morning has been full of me researching and trying to find an inexpensive, yet acceptable, hotel for us for the Friday night before our cruise leaves on Saturday. I think I found one. I booked it. Let's hope it's decent. And, in Fort Lauderdale. A 3 hour cab ride may have been a shock!

Nothing New
The days pass by and I look up and realize we're almost another week into this pregnancy.
Not too much happening here besides that. Gary, Jake's snail, gave us a scare last weekend and then he started moving a bunch. Now, he's not moving at all and appears to be coming out of his shell which is a really bad thing. Gary Watch 2011 will continue...
Two more weeks before our family vacation!!! I'm so excited. I think Christian is getting excited too. She can't wait to gamble. I hope we all manage to keep the motion sickness to a minimum. I am ordering all kinds of remedies to help with it. Just in case.

New Family Members
We didn't think we'd be adding any members to our family until December, but Jake wanted some fish. So, here we are.
Today we got two guppies and a black mystery snail. What makes it a mystery snail? Who knows.
And, the guppies. So far we only have Mister Swimmy (yellow tail with stripes).

Also...
I was told that after a small hiatus of updating some people decide the blog is no longer worth checking, MOM! So, I will try to update everyday, no matter how random or useless the information I pass on to my adoring public is.
Really, though, it's all important.
Jake's review of the Green Lantern today = "cheesy". His words, not mine. I totally agreed.

Swim Lessons
Today was day one of swim lessons. The boy can swim, but we'd like for him to be stronger in the water so we don't have to worry about him drowning. So today we went to the gym to meet Gus, his instructor. I don't know what my idea was of what Gus would look like, but it wasn't at all what I encountered. The kid was about 5'5" with thick curly hair and when I introduced myself I realized he had a pretty solid lisp. As I sat there watching him talk to Jake (I couldn't hear what he was saying) I could see the lisp in action. I then realized how unfortunate he was to have the name Gus, have a lisp and have parents that obviously thought this was ok for him to continue through life with. If I named my child Gus or Chris or anything that would enhance said lisp, i'd definitely be willing to either change their name or shell out the money for speech therapy so he wasn't some cruel universal joke for his entire life.
Poor Gus. I liked him. I also felt a little sorry for him and his little issue.

Tennis Tourney
Last week Jake was in tennis camp from 9a-12p. He said they were the longest three hours of his life. He ended up opting into the little tourney on Friday night. The first game didn't go so well as he didn't really understand ANY of the rules. After we explained a bit I think he understood a bit better. Also, the coaches put him on a doubles team with a coach after the first game and he seemed to be a bit happier with being there. His legs itched, his foot was bothering him and his hand hurt every time he hit the ball and it didn't go his way. It was JUST like watching the doubles at Wimbledon.
Here are a few pics. Some he's even smiling!

Note the final picture his partner had just served the ball and Jake is obviously ready to hit anything that comes to him.

Belly Rubs
I, lately, have had an issue with someone trying to rub my belly every single time I see her. The other day she actually kissed it. I was in so much shock I didn't know what to do. So yesterday when I saw her and she went in for the stomach rub I wrapped my arms around my stomach and bent over into the fetal position and started yelling "no, no, no!" Apparently she got this hint! She asked me if it bugged me and I promptly ignored her. I'm good at ignoring issues. She tried about three more times in the ten minutes I was near her to rub my belly. Each time, I got into my position and started yelling.
I will definitely be purchasing the "Ever been slapped by a pregnant lady? Touch my belly and you will."
